<p>I commute down US 280, and am about the biggest fan of the Santa Cruz mountains since Serra himself.  I hiked <a href="http://www.openspace.org/preserves/pr_madera.asp">El Corte de Madera</a> Open Space.  God&#8217;s country.</p>
<p>This was a great 45 minute jog/walk.  I entered the park and took an imediate right on  to El Corte de Madera creek trail, which plunges you down 300 feet in 1.5 mile.  From the bottom of the ravine, it is a nice wind back to the top.</p>
